We understand and recognise that parents know their child better than anyone and regard partnerships with parents/carers to be of the utmost importance in the care and education of their children.

In developing a policy for Working in Partnership with Parents and Carers the management of the nursery fully understand and respect that parents/carers have primary responsibility for their children, which necessarily includes their development and education. Our parental involvement policy is designed to build upon these fundamental principles:

  1. Parents are the first educators of their young children.
  2. The aim of the group is to support parents in their essential role.

It is our policy at Kiddie Kapers Neighbourhood Nursery to work in close co-operation with each child’s parents/carers in an atmosphere of open dialogue and mutual collaboration with respect to the child’s needs, wants and values. This helps contribute to acheiving the following key objectives:

  • To ensure that the individual developmental and learning needs of the child are met.
  • To better understand, and to contribute positively to, the cultures and values of the child’s family and community.

When a child joins us, we like to encourage parents to share with us as much information as possible about their child to ensure a successful and happy transition from home to nursery. Your child will be allocated a key worker who will help to settle your child into their new environment.

For children attending Kiddie Kapers Neighbourhood Nursery, there are Open Days / Evenings where parents / carers can have the opportunity to speak to staff about their child’s development and progress in a more relaxed atmosphere, and a newsletter on a regular basis to keep you up to date with what is happening.
